Stress
Any extraordinary physical o psychological demands, produced under pressure, that provoke anxiety are considered stress. In most cases, we experience stress by means of excessive exertion of our organism, be it self-imposed or external.
The general symptoms of stress are well known:
Anxiety
An apparent feeling of drowning
Muscular tension and/or stiffness
Dilated pupils
Inability to fall asleep
Lack of concentration
Irritability
Not wanting to socialise or relate to others
Defensive behavioural mechanisms
Stress can be a product of multiple sources: work, family, relationships, etc. In any case, stress means feeling emotionally redundant, overwhelmed, alongside an urgent will to "make everything stop". Stress should be treated with more than one approach. Relaxation techniques help alleviate stress. Knowing exactly what it is that one does, that then leads to stress without necessarily being aware of the chain reaction, and correcting said habits helps relieve stress. In all, finding new ways of confronting one's problems reduces stress.
